Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan wears hair extensions at the Met Gala

Nicola Coughlan just attended her very first Met Gala (an invitation to rival any Bridgerton ball, may I add) and absolutely killed the red carpet in a custom Richard Quinn long pink dress. Her look was completed with Swarovski jewels and, albeit barely visible, the all-important Jimmy Choo heels. Penelope leads the high life, it must be said.
Even though the actor couldn’t make the Bridgerton premiering at the end of March due to unfortunate circumstances (aka, Covid), this look has certainly made up for a lifetime of gala obscene. Including the Featherington Ball (see: season two, episode eight).
Our favorite aspect of the look, aside from the feather detailing, floral jewelry, and long gloves (OK, we love it all), has to be the hair. It might not look as extravagant as, say, Kim Kardashian’s bleached Marilyn inspiration, but it’s a drastic departure from her signature bob cut.
And to fuel our Met Gala beauty dreams, Nicola made an Instagram video documenting the entire prep process featuring the entire hair, makeup and styling team. Watch below:

Celebrity hairstylist Halley Brisker, who once worked on the star’s hair, left no stone unturned when it came to this amazing hair look. In her IG post, Halley shared the effortless, ethereal, feathered braids that fit perfectly with this year’s “Gilded Glamour” theme. And luckily for us, he also added that the extensions got “blown and styled with the premium Cloud Nine collection.”

To finish the hair look, Halley added volume and subtle movement using the Cloud Nine Waving Wand, £119, gently wrapping medium to large strands of hair around the wand and sliding each strand once it has warmed up.
To make this look even more spectacular, Jason Hogan, colorist at Josh Wood Atelier, posted a video sharing the process of creating the custom hairstyle for Nicola.
