from bleached blonde to brown
Twelve years ago, Emma Watson cut her hair in her first cut. Perhaps in defiance of having the same hair for as long as a third of the heroes of Harry Potter, perhaps she just wanted a change.
Now, the 32-year-old actor has brought back his old pixie cut, with a modern twist.
The Harry Potter star made his debut in Prada’s latest fragrance campaign, of which Watson is the new face.
Images released by the Italian fashion house show Watson’s newly shorn hair for the collaboration, complete with dangling Prada earrings and a dramatic eyeliner moment.

The Prada campaign also marks her directorial debut for the brand.
“Prada has always gone beyond traditional patterns and archetypes of engineered beauty and is famous for a femininity that defies convention,” Watson said in a press release.
“It’s a pleasure to create a campaign and portray a fragrance with such a deep philosophical concept and sustainability initiatives in a way that feels genuinely real and relevant,” she added.

Having been in the limelight for over 20 years, it’s no surprise that we’ve seen a few changes in Emma Watson’s hairstyles over the years; from child actor to fashion face and United Nations ambassador, the star has gone through several styles and colors in her time in the spotlight.
As she rediscovers her pixie cut, take a look back at how Emma Watson’s hairstyle has evolved over the years.
2000
Before she was a household name, Emma Watson was a normal 10-year-old and with her, she had the normal haircut of a 10-year-old: natural light brown hair with straight bangs and her natural curls that stood out.
2002
The actor grew out his hair and bangs over the next few years, pushing his bangs to the side and adding a few extra layers to his locks.
2004
A fresh cut and some golden highlights came out in 2004, where Watson embraced her curly hair on the red carpet.
2005
The then-appropriate side-swept bangs stayed with Watson for a few years and became her go-to style.
2006
2006 saw Watson adopt a Noughties take on ’90s “The Rachel” haircut, complete with multiple layers.
2007
The Harry Potter star has played with lighter golden tones as he got older.
2008
The actress got her 10-year-old hairstyle back by cutting new bangs into her golden locks.
2010
New hair who is it? After finally wrapping up filming all of the Harry Potter movies (where she had to keep her hair more or less the same as Hermione’s), Watson mixed things up with a new pixie cut and darker shade.
2011
She opted for a lighter, butterier golden hue as the pixie cut grew out.
2011
Watson returned to a darker shade as she developed the cropped style.
2012
The pixie cut reached bob length in 2012, and Watson’s hair color reverted to a more natural light brown with golden highlights.
2014
Watson returned to the dark side in 2014 and wore her hair in a dramatic side sweep for the premiere of Noah in Madrid, Spain.
2016
Watson returned to bangs in 2016, but this time opting for softer, curtain-style bangs instead of straight bangs.
2018
The Harry Potter star took it a step further in 2018 and had super short bangs cut in her brunette locks.
2021
The actor returned to a side-swept brown bob in 2021.
2022
Either Watson has a very quick regrowth, or she added extensions for the BAFTA awards in 2022, with a neutralizing gray toner to the look of things as well.
2022
Watson went for the chop again in 2022, this time sporting a modern, soft cut with layered layers and bottleneck bangs in the front.
