How to Wear Feather Hair Extensions Correctly
If you have been captivated lately by the quality of colorful feather hair extensions hair accessories, you are not alone. But as with any trend, there are rules to follow. How to wear feather hair extensions isn’t too complicated, but there are are some do’s and don’ts you’ll want to adhere to. We reached out to The Feather Junkie founder, Ashley Featherston, who explained everything we need to know to maximize this edgy, eye-catching look!

DO: Have fun with your color assortment. Our individual hair feathers allow you to choose your favorite feather color, length and even width.
DO: Have fun mixing different feather widths and lengths. Personally, I like to mix longer and shorter, but I like the wider feathers behind my ear and having them longer than my natural hair.
DO: Maintenance on your hair feathers every four to six weeks. This is done by reusing your current feather extensions and moving the micro link to the scalp. It is a very simple process and can be done easily at home using our Hair Feather Tool Kit.
DO: Delicately treat your feather extensions. They can break like real hair. Treat with care and avoid petting. This can loosen their bond.
DO: Store your feathers flat, if possible. Then, how are you doing. Over time, your hair feathers will grow into the position they are left in or stored in. Simply smooth them with a flat iron before use.
DO: Be free, be light, and let your feather take flight!
DON’T: Put too many feathers in a single micro-link. This can lead to falls due to a loose tie. Six to seven pens per micro-link are recommended.
DON’T: Don’t be afraid to wash, brush, dry, straighten, curl or jump in the pool with your feathers. Let your feathers blend into your life.
DON’T: Go long periods of time without performing maintenance. Believe me, going five months without pulling up your feathers on your scalp will cause a terror to form between the feathers and your new growth. This will lead to cutting off that piece of hair.
DON’T: Don’t be afraid to use heat, but use it with caution. Anything over 450 degrees can break feathers and your hair.
